Style: Modern
Location: Cape Town
The design professionals at Just Interior Design were tasked with adding class, elegance and functionality to a modern apartment located at No 3 Silo. Situated at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, No 3 Silo is one of the country’s most sophisticated apartment buildings presenting not only a range of modern-day amenities, but also world-class views of the city, the port and harbour, and Table Mountain.
Sharing in the open-plan space of the living- and dining rooms is the kitchen. A modern island doubles up as a functional breakfast bar while also stylishly announcing the start of the culinary zone.
The colour palette is kicked up a notch upon entering the living room, thanks to the handmade floor rug adding a decent amount of not-too-popping tints. A custom-made TV unit on the far wall presents adequate storage opportunity for a range of accessories.
Marmoran wall covering ensure a delicious amount of texture for the entryway. A custom-designed credenza table worthy of a double take adds to the entrance space's functionality and class.
Notice the monochrome colour palette reminding us, once again, of its timelessness.
Various elements come together to visually separate the dining zone from the adjoining living / seating one. These include the stone-grey floor rug; the striking ceiling pendants; and the colour scheme which takes a slightly darker, moodier turn.
Gold trimmings and a royal colour scheme ensure this guest bedroom remains as classy as the rest of the interiors.
From far away it's almost as if the custom-made TV unit melts into the wall, thanks to the similar colour schemes. It's only upon closer inspection that the wooden countertop surfaces become more prominent.
A bespoke headboard becomes a prime focal piece in the main bedroom.
The overall colour palette of the living room is one of calm neutrals. This presents the ideal backdrop for additional hues, in particular the autumn-like tints portrayed in the generous floor rug.
Ultra modern furniture pieces have been scattered throughout the living room, ensuring seating options that are comfortable yet also fashionable.
In true modern-style form, the living room shares its layout with a dining area.
Streaming in on a daily basis is the incomparable view of the Cape Town harbour. And at night-time, that glittering cityscape is sure to make a fine backdrop for dinner parties.
Generous, custom-made mirrors clad up the back wall of the dining area. These are ideal to reflect the incoming natural light, plus double up on the exterior- and interior views.
Custom-designed, the home office’s desk presents a unique form that also allows it to make the absolute best of the harbour view.
An entire wall in front of the desk is waiting to be filled with paintings and/or photographs.
A custom-made unit was added into the main bedroom to house a small television. In addition, it also helps to cover up various plug points and bring about a cleaner, neater appearance.
A convenient balcony, complete with stylish seating and fresh potted plants, ushers us outdoors.
For this guest bedroom, city views and a warmer colour scheme was decided upon.
