Design Style: Modern
The Durban branch of Mr Price Money required a modern upgrade in terms of visual style. Something that could complement the brand while also giving the employees a fresh and welcoming working space.
Some fresh style was ensured for the reception area via accent walls, potted plants, and modern furniture pieces flaunting linear looks in neutral tones. These neutral tones are complemented fantastically by the more colourful and patterned décor, such as the scatter cushions.
For a bit of colour, framed Mr Price photographs were used to decorate the walls and liven up a few empty passages.
The surprising bursts of colour continue around every corner, with pops of yellows, blues, and other equally bright tints styling up walls while speaking of the brand’s fresh and fun image.
Wallpaper was also used to adorn a few select surfaces (such as staff's work stations). In addition, pin boards were upholstered, ensuring extra colour and pattern to stylishly coincide with the walls’ bursts of colour and inspirational quotes.
The same winning ingredients that livened up the working / productive areas of the office were used in the kitchen / dining area, albeit in a more subtle way.
To ensure a more tranquil vibe, earthy / neutral tones were chosen for the focal wall as opposed to the bright pops of colour in the hallways.
Industrial-styled pendants dangle above the dining table while a green wall ensures some lush freshness for the dining zone.
Bar-height tables adorn the opposite side of the dining area, subtly separating the seating zone from the working appliances, such as the fridge. Modern bar stools ensure comfy perching spots for taking a break, while staff seated at the dining table can enjoy a softer and more laid-back position.
