This challenging project required us to combine a 100mm elliptically shaped bar counter top with curved vertical elements to a perfectly flush finish. Time constraints demanded that the stainless steel footrest and woodwork were all made simultaneously and fitted together in one operation. The form work for the cast concrete elements were complex and challenging, particularly because the flush finish allowed for no tolerances.
The basic structure shows how vertical elements meet the counter top with a neat flush finish
This image shows how the individual vertical elements were cast into complicated moulds made up of shaped styrene lined with ABF sheeting and melamine boards
