House 34—Waterkloof Boulevard

House 34 in Waterkloof Boulevard is a luxurious masterpiece specifically designed to meet the needs of our client's day to day lifestyle. On the ground floor this modern retreat houses amenities such as two lounges, an open plan TV room and dining area which open out to a cavernous patio, a cinema room, spacious chef's kitchen and a guest bedroom on the East away from the entertainment areas. The gardens are well manicured and take inspiration from the surrounding landscapes—only indigenous plants find their way into our gardens. This fostering a great relationship with the beautiful birdlife in the area. The garden is carefully topped off with a beautiful raised lap pool running the length of the entertainment area.

On landing to the top of the curved staircase on the first floor you're greeted with views of Bela-Bela to the North as well as mountain views through the double volume entrance hall to the South. A Pyjama Lounge with kitchenette will host the family on lazy mornings, Three additional bedrooms (All en-suite with private balconies), a gym and study finish off the first floor. The Master suite has views over Bela-Bela, a large en-suite bathroom with separate toilet and shower closets, his and hers walk in wardrobes, and a lounge area away from the business of the house.

This contemporary home blends wood, glass, travertine and an off-white tone in giving an aesthetic that is simple and yet eye catching. It's timelessness lies completely in the simplicity of the design. Yet the simplicity belies the fact that the devil here lies in the details.

The house's contemporary status is not only highlighted in the aesthetics but also in the efficiency of it's design. Rain water harvesting, optimal solar orientation, , cross ventilation, solar power back-up, low-emission glazing and great insulation are some of the measures taken to ensure that this home uses a minimal amount of power in maintaining a comfortable space inside.

This home, along with all our other designs are custom designed to meet the needs of each individual client (family) as well as the unique requirements and opportunities (views, solar orientation, etc) of each site. No two clients are the same, therefor, no two projects will ever meet the same criteria.
