Located in the heart of the Gardens Forest in Cape Town, South Africa, the 3-bedroom villa rests gently on the slopes of Table Mountain overlooking Cape Town Business District and the picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean. The site consists of a series of terraces, oriented north-west. The villa is positioned over three existing terraces with a total height difference of approximately six meters. The villa attempts to address a complex question: how to generate a meaningful dialogue with place when the surroundings are powerfully ‘natured’. This requires that the relationship between architecture, and the landscape is carefully considered executed.
