The total floor to ceiling height of only 2m stood as a challenge as structural water proofing needed to be considered as the original walls and floors showed signs of damp and water ingress.

Ventilation is always critical and a building control requirement in a useable basement wine cellar and will further aid removal of any further ingress moisture creating unwanted condensation. The concealment of the climate control system was carefully designed along side the structural water proofing design in order that the membranes were not compromised and disturbed by any after thought mechanical and electrical considerations. Here we are using a 900watt custom wine cooling system and mvhr ventilation providing fresh air supply and extract to the space. This system forms part of a bigger ventilation system plan covering the basement communal areas and an additional custom red wine cellar storage space. The ergonomics is as always a standard design consideration once again here demonstrated by lower case storage and center usable marble shelves for placing and pouring wine. For the flush seamless visuals we have used our frameless RAL color matched grills for the climate control and recessed the LED lighting in floating timber perimeter shelves.
