This unique tree was designed by Uys & White as an iconic sculptural element at the arrival entrance to the estate. It was inspired by the baobab which is commonly known in Africa as the tree of life because of the multitude of species it supports. It is a tree that can provide, food, water, shelter and relief from sickness. The branches resemble a root-system, which is why it has often been referred to as the upside-down tree. There is a tale which tells of how God planted them upside-down.
