Organisation in the kitchen is of utmost importance. Whether you're cooking for many or just for one, you want to make sure all of your pots, pans, cutlery, and spices are all in the right place and off the counter.

To help with kitchen organisation, we here at homify have compiled a list of 10 completely innovative storage that will leave kitchen feeling less crowded. Take a look through the list and see which storage solutions would look best in your home

1. Open shelving

Open shelving is a great way to organise all of your spices, cups, plates, or even knick-knacks. These shelves display everything out in the open and help you keep things off of the counter. And, in addition to contributing to the beauty of your kitchen, open shelving is easy to install and can be fashioned to any wall.

2. Hanging wall rails

Hanging wall rails are just like open shelves in that they are mounted on the wall and free up your counter for extra work space. The only difference is that these are meant for your utensils, or even for dish cloths or oven mitts.

3. Free hanging rails

Just like hanging wall rails, free handing rails are another great storage solution, especially if you don't have the wall space for the earlier model. This free hanging rail is more ideal for pots and pans than utensils, but of course you can hang anything you want from them.

4. Pull-out pantry

Pantries are ideal for storing packaged food products like cereals and sodas. The only thing is, in more urban areas, having a separate room for a pantry is quite rare. So what could be better than a pull-out pantry? Pull-out pantries allow you to store your non-perishables and keep them out of sight. This space saving device also has shelves built into the door for extra storage.

5. Shutter unit

If you want to keep appliances out of sight and off the counter, you should consider stacking them on shelves that disappear behind a rolling shutter door. This idea works well for food items, as well.

6. Cabinet storage with a twist

This pull-out corner unit allows easy access to the deep nooks of your corner cabinet. Pots and pans go great here, and the swing function lets you grab them easily when you need them.

7. Wine racks

Built-in wine racks like the one we see here are ideal for storing all kinds of bottled goods. Normally when we see whine racks, they are situated on top of the counter, or are a free-standing unit on the floor. But wine racks that are built into your cabinet free up that floor and counter space, giving you more space to move around.

8. Kitchen island storage

If you have the space for it in your kitchen, consider adding a kitchen island. In addition to giving you extra counter space to work on, you also have twice the amount of storage space. Many kitchen island users place their cutlery and crockery here.

9. Basket drawers

For the fruits and veggies that don't need to be refrigerated, basket drawers are the perfect solution to keeping these food items off of the counter. The woven structure of the baskets allow the produce to breathe, while also adding a homier touch to an otherwise modern kitchen.

10. Full-size cupboards

When space hinders storage in an open floor plan kitchen, having a floor to ceiling cabinet in the adjacent dining area will give you easy access to dishes whenever you need them. These can either be built into your home's foundation or they can be free standing, depending on what fits your budget and kitchen layout.
